Reducing Costs
Recycling scheme
Over 250 businesses have now signed up to our FREE recycling scheme which started in November 2009. Since then Ealing BID Businesses have supported a Cleaner Ealing by recycling over 6 tonnes of waste a month. A staggering 19 tonnes and rising of recycling has been collected since the initiative started.
WEEE (Waste Electric Electrical Equipment)
We are pleased to announce that from July we will be able offer businesses the opportunity to recycle all their WEEE products through a safe and secure channel and again our businesses will be able to save money by using First Mile and securing themselves a discount of up to 20%.
Pest control
We have introduced an ongoing programme of pest and vermin control with and this has resulted in a cleaner more attractive district. This means a big cost saving to our businesses through having an annual contract.
Insurance savings
Ealing BID and Oval Insurance Broking (Oval), has worked to cut the cost of insurance to businesses in the BID area by offering a 20% Automatic Insurance Premium Discount to BID businesses subject to No Claims in the last 3 years. As an Oval policyholder you have access to a dedicated Oval Account Manager with direct dial, Risk Management Support helping you to comply with Health & Safety legislation, a 24 Hour Legal Advice Helpline providing you with access to a team of qualified Legal Advisers for advice on commercial legal matters and access to over 100 legal documents specifically for owners of small businesses.
Energy Savings
From August 1 2011 we are changing our Utilities contract supplier to alfa energy. They are a local supplier based at 1A Haven Green, and fit the bill as far as ‘shopping local’ is concerned. Being on our doorstep is a significant advantage to all of us and will ensure the process of managing your utility needs is simple. They will provide a weekly market report to keep you updated in energy related news, provide Ealing BID businesses with a dedicated account manager with a direct line and email so you are always able to get hold of the relevant person, as well as assisting in other general billing, contractual and value added services. All you have to do is go to http://alfaenergy.co.uk/contact/getquote, download, complete, and return the ‘letter of authority’ by fax on 020 8810 8080 or by email at ealingBID@alfaenergy.co.uk. They will even come and pick it up from you if you do not have access to these facilities..

A consumer campaign created to promote a healthier lifestyle by highlighting Ealing’s diverse choice of health food, fitness, alternative medicines & therapies, sports, beauty retailers and businesses. Ealing ShopLocal
Ealing BID’s successful consumer campaign continues to drive value into every Ealing consumer, trader, retailer and every business member’s pocket. The BID’s popular Ealing ShopLocal Voucher and Offer programme is being further enhanced to include even more offers, greater variety and faster implementation via the campaign’s site: ealingshoplocal.co.uk Finally, plans are being completed for a new Ealing ShopLocal iPhone app which will be a quick and convenient tool to find shops/restaurants and latest offers in Ealing Broadway.
Events
Ealing BID holds events to drive footfall to the district’s businesses, such as Healthy Living, Polish Festival and Christmas tree lighting.
